From Tuesday 7 June 2022, the trail will be fully accessible to everyone. The trail is signposted, and you can choose how long it will take you. You can hike the trail in both directions, choose your starting point and the number of kilometres, and if necessary choose a shorter route. You can plan your own hike in our route planner.
- Where can I stay/camp?
On this page you will find all information about staying overnight. If you wish to camp, you can go to the surrounding campsites, to local residents (Campspace/Welcome to my Garden). Our partner organisation Anders Reizen arranges all the accommodation if you don't want to find it yourself. Wild camping is prohibited in Belgium.
- What is the toughest stage?
On stage 3 you start with three tough climbs so this day is physically the toughest.
- Can I do the trail with a buggy/pram?
No, we advise against it. More than 90% is unpaved and can be muddy (in wet weather), or contain sections of loose sand (dry weather) . We recommend a baby carrier rather than a pram.
- Can the dog come along?
Faithful four-legged friends are more than welcome on the trail, but only on a leash, as per the general guidelines in the National Park. You can walk the whole trail with a leashed dog!
- Is the route signposted?
Yes, the whole route is clearly signposted with the National Park Trail symbol.
- Are there toilets along the way?
There are toilets at each starting and finishing point. On the map below you can see where the catering facilities are located near the trail.
- Is there a taxi service?

-> Ecotaxi Genk: 0468 27 27
-> Taxi MM: 0477 77 72 88
